Evelyn Hand, 89, formerly of Webster City, passed away at her home in Summerville, SC. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Cass Center Cemetery, on county road D-20, north of Webster City with Pastor Ray Artip officiating. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Evelyn Irene Myers, daughter of Everett and Sarah Stone Myers, was born in De Smit, South Dakota, on October 27, 1918. Her family moved back to Webster City when she was a small child. She received her education in the Webster City Schools and was a member of the Church of Christ in Webster City. On April 15, 1935 she married Everett M. Hand in Webster City, where the couple resided for the 68 years of their marriage. She was employed in several Webster City businesses, retiring from the Hamilton County Care Facility. In 2007 she moved to South Carolina with her daughter and son-in-law.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Delvin and Donna Hand of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and daughters and son-in-law, Karen Kaye and Gordon Wheeler, of Summerville, South Carolina; and Brenda Hand, of Clarion, Iowa. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; her parents and two sisters; Mildred Gordon of Corcoran, California; and Margaret Olmstead of Webster City.

Evelyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed.
