Ken Seymour, 59, Waukee, formerly of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. A family service will be 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge and the Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City with the Rev. Scott Boone officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to Mercy Hospice, 5820 Windwood Dr. Johnston, Iowa, 50131

Kenneth Edward Seymour was born in Des Moines February 3, 1949. He grew up in Creston, attended school there and graduated from Creston High School in 1967. He attended and graduated from Iowa State University in 1972. Ken was married to Nancy Stark in 1970.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Mel and Geri Seymour; his grandson Nathaniel Charles Seymour, his father-in-law Dick Stark. He is survived by his wife Nancy; his brother Dave and his wife Susan Seymour.

Over the years Ken contributed from his many talents to the communities in which he lived. His greatest accomplishment was his love for his wife Nancy and his family. The greatest gifts that he leaves behind are Elizabeth and John Stirling and their children Caroline, Thomas and William; Kenneth and Rachel Seymour Jr. and their children Joshua, Joseph, Aaron and Isaiah; Michael and Joy Seymour and their children Samuel, Jamison, and MaryGrace; Margaret and Denny Quinn, and their child Selby; Barbara and Matt Stansbury.
