Ray Olthoff, 79, of Webster City, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City, with grandson Matthew Olthoff officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Ray Olthoff, son of Lena and Joe Olthoff, was born July 1, 1928. He attended Lincoln High School at Webster City and graduated in 1945. That same year on August 26th he married Mary Flowers. Ray and Mary lived in Webster City, Iowa most of their lives. Ray spent most of his working years in the meat business including owning Olthoff Custom Meats from 1965 to 1973. Ray is survived by one son and two daughters: Dan (Ruth) Olthoff of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Lori (Garry) Wahman of Altoona, Iowa; Peggy (Terry) Trueblood of Clovis, California; and 7 grandchildren: Matt, Mark, Danielle, Jodi, Eric, Ryan, and Cody; 7 great grandchildren: Jordyn and Annabelle (Danielle and Phil Wentzel of Maple Grove, Minnesota); Jack and Sam (Eric and Sara Wahman of Des Moines, Iowa); Parker and Ryen (Matt and Johnnie Olthoff of Ladera Ranch, California); Ben (Jodi and Kevin Biggs of Costa Mesa, California); and Isaiah (Mark and Heather Olthoff of Camarillo, California); sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Long, Betty Olthoff, Delores Lee and brothers Don (Donna) Olthoff and Harold Olthoff. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Lena and Joe Olthoff and first wife Mary Flowers (1994), and second wife, Jo Parrish (2005). Ray married Jo Parrish in 1996 with son Matt and daughter-in-law Tina of Vashon Island, Washington, and Julie and Chad Friesth of Des Moines, Iowa. Additional grandchildren Ray and Jo enjoyed are: Caitlyn and Ashley (Julie and Chad Friesth); Jeffrey, Jacob, and Joshua (Matt and Tina Parrish). Ray was well known in Webster City, Iowa and lived a wonderful life that impacted numerous family members, co-workers, and friends. He leaves many memories and will be deeply missed by all.
