A Gathering will be held Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Foster Chapel for Masahiro “Masa” Funabashi. Masahiro Funabashi, son of Yoshiharu and Yoko Nakazato Funabashi, was born October 8, 1980 at Kagoshima, Japan. He moved to Canada in 2000 to study English. From there, he came to the United States to become a student in the Iowa Central Community College Aviation Program, from which he graduated in 2003. He also graduated in 2005 from Utah Valley State College. He moved to China 2006 and worked for Pan Am Airlines for a few months. He then returned to Webster City where he was employed by Storm Flying Service as a charter pilot and flight instructor.

Survivors are his grandparents, parents, two brothers, a sister-in-law, and his fiancee, Anna Sato, all of Japan.

Masa enjoyed flying, fishing and hanging out with his extended family and friends.
