Kenny Beck, 69, of Webster City, died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Bemidji, Minnesota at a later date. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the services on Saturday.

Kenneth Vernon Beck, son of Martin and Ruth Wigness, Beck was born December 31, 1938 at Grand Meadow, MN. He attended grade school at Carr Lake, MN and graduated from Bemidji High school in 1956. In 1958, he married Priscella Will. The couple later divorced. From 1967 to 1974, he owned and operated a race track at Bemidji. On April 14, 1978, he married Bernice Johnson Fradet at Bemidji. Most of his life has been devoted to truck driving, working for Hodgeman Construction at Fairmont, MN, M.V. Thorson Construction at Bemidji and for his brother, Virgil, hauling grain out of North Dakota to Duluth, MN. The last 28 years he leased on with Luppes Transport and Iowa Tank Lines hauling chemicals. He had also bartended at the Eagles Club at Bemidji and the Bemidji Moose Lodge. He had bartended at the Webster City Moose Family Center for several years.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Shelly Beck of Superior, WI; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Christie Beck of Bemidji; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Marilyn Beck of Onawa; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Irene Beck of Bemidji; Dolly Beck of Rochester, MN; Tim and Carol Urbaniak of Argyle, MN; Bud and Jean Johnson of Gonvick, MN; Jack Woodford of Kamrar; mother-in-law, Marion Johnson of Crookston, MN; aunts and uncle, Murl and Herb Loecher of Austin, MN; Dorothy Westrum of Bemidji; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Ernie and Virgil Beck; sisters, Helen Anderson, Mary Mullin, Shirley Woodford and Jeanie Beck.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, former member of the Bemidji Jaycees, Moose Lodges of Bemidji and Webster City and the Eagles Club at Bemidji
