Robert L. Ades, 79, of Webster City, died Saturday January 19, 2008 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Gina Spohnheimer officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Robert LuVern Ades son of Roy and Florence Stevens Ades was born on May 3, 1928 at Webster City. He graduated from Webster City Lincoln High School in 1946. On May 7, 1950, he married Gleneva LaVonne Faulkner in Webster City. Robert farmed in the Ellsworth, Hampton, and Waverly, Iowa areas. He was employed in the public water department in Waverly before returning to Jewell where he worked for the Hamilton County Conservation Department as a park officer at Little Wall Lake for over 30 years. Upon his retirement, the couple resided in Boone. He had been residing at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past two years.

In addition to his wife Gleneva, he is survived by his sons, Bruce and wife Madonna Ades of Westside, IA., Randy Ades and companion, Debbie Sargent of Ames; daughters, Sandra and husband John Christensen of Ames, Marsha Watts and companion, Lee Roybal of Humboldt; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Carol Ades of Mason City, Carl and Wilma Ades of Clear Lake, Linda Ades of Cherokee and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and John Ades and his sister, Velma Long.

Mr. Ades was active in gun safety training and helping with boyscout projects. He was a lifelong Conservationist.
