Daryl L. Hetland, 61, of Downey, CA., died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Williams with Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will be at the Rose Grove Cemetery southwest of Williams. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Daryl Lynn Hetland, son of Silas and Beatrice Hoffman Hetland was born December 7, 1942 at Williams. He was a graduate of North East Hamilton High School and received a B. A. in accounting from Cal State at Los Angeles. On March 17, 1968, he married Elyse Ann Schutt at Webster City. The couple resided in Downey, where he was employed as an accountant for Sweco Company for over 20 years, before retiring in the early 1990’s.
In addition to his wife, Elyse, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charyl and Robert Edmond of Downey, CA.; two granddaughters, Nicole and Natalie Edmond, both of Downey; brothers, Boyd Hetland of Williams, Vernon and wife, Sandy Hetland of Webster City and Adrian Hetland of Ellsworth. Mr. Hetland was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister, both in infancy.
