Linda Woodall, 68, of Kamrar, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 at the Israel Family Hospice House at Ames. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, east of Kamrar, with Mark Petrie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.
Linda Jean Fonken, daughter of Conrad and Etta Hassebrock Fonken, was born March 2, 1935 at Kamrar. She received her education in the Kamrar Public School, graduating in 1952. She also attended Waldorf College for 2 years. On July 26, 1958, she married Dick Ross Woodall at the First Presbyterian Church at Kamrar. The couple farmed east of Kamrar and continued to reside on the family farm after retirement. She had worked at the First State Bank at Webster City, a health care nursing assistant in the Webster City area and also was a homemaker. Most recently, they were caretakers for the First Presbyterian Church and Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodall is survived by her husband, Dick; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Renee Woodall of Kamrar; Andy and Becky Rockow Woodall of Webster City; Alex and Shelley Woodall of Kamrar; grandchildren, Trey, Rylee, Jenna, Jessica and Jillian Woodall, all of Kamrar; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Lloyd and Mildred Fonken of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Doris Fonken of Kamrar; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister-in-law, Lester, Lee and Norma Fonken.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as the church organist for 20 years. Linda enjoyed golfing, dancing, gardening, playing the organ and piano. She was a very caring and devoted mother and grandmother and had great pleasure in sharing in her grandchildren’s successes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bliss Cancer Center at Ames or the Israel Family Hospice House at Ames.
