Elizabeth Nelson

Elizabeth Nelson, 98, Webster City, died April 24, 1994 at Crestview Manor Care Center. A mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday morning at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. James Duster officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Alice Brennick, daughter of John and Hannah (Murphy) Brennick, was born September 17, 1895 on a farm west of Stanhope. She attended school in Jewell and was employed at the Jewell Record as a printer.

In 1942 she married Warren Nelson at Boone. The couple resided at Waterloo. They were later divorced. She was a legal secretary in Waterloo for 20 years. Following her retirement in 1965, she continued to reside in Waterloo. For the past six years, she lived at Crestview Manor.

She is survived by nephews, James McDonald of Ames and William McDonald of Long Beach, California; nieces, Pearl Politis and May McKenna, both of Ames, and Madonna Gable of Alpena, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
