Lloyd Nash

Lloyd G. Nash, 90, formerly of Jewell, of Park Rapids, Mn., died Monday, September 5, at St Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, Mn.

Lloyd was born May 8, 1898 in Foreston, near Milaca, the ninth child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson. His mother died shortly after his birth. Frankie and Abner Nash assumed his care, moving first to California and then to Ollie, MT, where he spent his childhood years on the prairie he loved so well. Lloyd married Blanche Myrtle Gustafson Aug. 27, 1925 at Sac City, IA. They spent many years in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area where he was employed as a truck driver. they later moved to Iowa where Lloyd owned and operated a trucking business. After his retirement in 1968, they moved to Park Rapids where they have resided ever since. Lloyd attended the Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Blanche of Park Rapids; one son: Robert Lloyd Nash, of Park Rapids; one daughter: Phyllis Lewis of LaCrescent; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept 8, 1988 at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Abe Cardosa officiating. Jane Wolff was the organist and Ray England sang: "He, The Pearly Gates Will Open". Congregational hymns were: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Amazing Grace".

Active caskebearers were: Bob Nash, Eivind Nash, Ronald Capistran and Jamie Hansen.

Interment was at the Greenwood Cemetery with all arrangements handled by the Jones-Behrens Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
