Dale Wilson

Dale Wilson, age 83, a lifelong Jewell area resident, died Wednesday, November 11, 1998 while visiting his wife at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 16, 1998 at the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell. The Rev. Dean Titus of the Faith Christian Center of Story City officiated. The body was cremated after the service.

Percy Dale Wilson was born on July 14, 1915 on the famiy farm near Jewell to George Percy and Minnie Rebecca (Driftland) Wilson. He attended the Garden Center Country School and graduated from Stanhope High School in 1932. On October 14, 1944 Dale married Izetta Naomi McAlister in Webster City. He had worked for Draper Implement and farmed for John Walker. Dale was a Moorman Seed Salesman. He delivered the Des Moines Sunday Register for 47 years. Dale was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for over 20 years. He was a member of the Faith Christian Center in rural Story City.

Dale is survived by his wife, Izetta of Story City; a daughter, Vicki Smith of Escondido, California, three sons: Paul Wilson of Vista, California, Michael Wilson of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Steve Wilson of Santa Cruz, California; seven grandchildren; five great-grandsons; a sister, Betty Roosevelt of Pensacola, Florida; and two brothers, Ronald Wilson of Dayton, Ohio and Harlan Wilson of Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Wilson.

Becker Funeral Home in Jewell handled the arrangements.
