Harry Hassebrock

Harry Hassebrock, 87, Jewell, died April 26, 1994 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services were held Thursday afternoon at the Community Church east of Kamrar, with Dr. Craig Bex officiating. Burial was in the Presbyterian Cemetery near Kamrar. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harry Hassebrock, son of Henry and Gepke (Bauman) Hassebrock, was born September 6, 1906 on a farm south of Kamrar. He attended Kamrar schools.

On February 20, 1935, he married Katie Tempel at Kamrar. The couple farmed in the Kamrar and Jewell areas until 1975 when they moved to Jewell. He then worked part-time for Hamilton County Conservation.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Gene of Webster City and Orlen of Jewell; daughters, Barbara Emmons of Kamrar and Donna Luppes of Oskaloosa; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Taake of Ankeny; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter; his parents, two brothers and six sisters.

Mr. Hassebrock was a member of the Men's Fellowship at his church and was also a former Deacon.
