Lyle H. Smith Dies at 48

Lyle H. Smith, 48, of Williams, died Thursday morning at the Hamilton County Hospital following a heart attack he had suffered the day before.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Scott Funeral Home in Alden with burial in the Alden cemetery.

Lyle Hurd Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan L. Smith was born Nov. 22, 1916, at Williams and was reared and educated in the Williams community.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Gladys L. Smith of Williams; four sons, Russell and Alan Smith, both at home, Marlin Smith of Webster City, and Cale Smith of Alden; three grandchildren, and three brothers and three sisters: Ivan D Smith, Iowa Falls, Francis H. Smith, Webster City, Charles B. Smith of St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Charles (Zella) Fleming, Iowa Falls, Mrs. James (Virginia) Johnson of Webster City, and Mrs. Herbert (Hazelle) Wilson of Alden.
