Lester Johnson

Lester Rando Johnson, 73, of 3736 Nelson Avenue, Jewell, died Wednesday, August 5, 1998, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services were held Friday, August 7, 1998 at the First Assembly of God Church in Ames with Rev. Gary Pilcher officiating. Burial of his cremains will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

Lester Rando Johnson was born April 26, 1925 in Randall to Elmer J. and Maggie (Rando) Johnson. He was a 1943 graduate of Randall High School. He farmed the family farm for many years. He recently moved to the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard due to ill health.

Lester is survived by two brothers - James of Nevada and Kenneth of Jewell; a sister - Bessie Beasley of Merriville, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1985 and mother in 1988, and an infant sister - Helen Lucille in 1930.
