Wilma Hassebrock

Wilma Hassebrock, age 84, a former Jewell area resident, died Thursday, July 27, 1995 of a heart ailment at the Community Convalescent Home in Riverside, California. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 2, 1995 at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell with Rev. H. Dean Stille to officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Wilma Rigter was born January 28, 1911 near Kamrar, Iowa to Klass and Albertha (Olthoff) Rigter. she grew up in the Kamrar community and attended the Kamrar public school. On November 12, 1928 Wilma married Ralph Hassebrock in Webster City. They lived in the Kamrar and Jewell area. Wilma had been a cook at the Story City Memorial Hospital and has worked at the turkey plant in Ellsworth. She was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell. After the death of her husband in 1986, she moved to Riverside, California the following year. She was a patient at the Community Convalescent Home in Riverside, California for a short time before her death.

Wilma is survived by four daughters - Althea Heers of Jewell, Iowa, Delberta Grotness, Eva Nelson and Doris Koop all of Riverside, California; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, two sisters - Martha Hassebrock, Marie Klaver, and a brother Joe Rigter.
