Laurine (Tiny) Johnson, of Ellsworth, passed away on April 17, 2008 at the age of 93. She was born on May 8, 1914 to Jesse and Helen (Hanson) Nelson at the family home in Ellsworth. She attended Ellsworth High School and graduated in 1932. Following graduation she worked at Miller's Cafe in Ellsworth and at other area restaurants.

On December 8th, 1940 she married Adelbert (Del) Johnson. They were blessed with three children. Over the years she worked at Anthonys Department Store in Webster City, Thoreson Hardware, Ellsworth Turkey Plant, Hawkeye Mink, and Thompson Hatchery finally retiring at the age of 72.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran in Ellsworth. She found great joy in serving her neighbors, her church, and playing with her grandchildren.

Laurine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Del; 3 brothers, Vernon, Bill and her twin, Bob and one sister, Marion Dalbey; by one grandchild Anissa Scott.

She is survived by her 3 children, Terry and wife, Theresa Johnson of South Haven, MS; Karen Greathouse of Ellsworth and Don and Carol Johnson of Windsor, CO. By 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life took place at Trinity Lutheran in Ellsworth on Sunday, April 20 at 2 pm. Visitation was held at Boeke Funeral Home at 201 E Minnie in Radcliffe from 5 to 7 pm Saturday evening.
