Mabel Clark

Mabel Nelson Clark, 86, a lifelong Jewell area resident, died Friday, Aug. 24, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated United Church of Christ, H. Dean Stille officiation. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. the Becker Funeral Home of Jewell was in charge of arrangements.

Mabel Nelson, daughter of Hans and Metta (Christensen) Nelson, was born March 13, 1904, in Jewell. She attended rural schools, and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked for many years at the telephone and post offices in Jewell. She married Charlie Andrew Clark on Sept. 10, 1941, in San Diego.

She is survived by a brother, John Nelson, Jewell; nieces and nephews; and a great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Nels, Carl and Fred.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell, the Rebekah Lodge and was a charter member of the Jewell Senior Citizens.
