Tressie Grove

Tressie Grove, 87, Webster City, died today July 10, at Crestview Manor Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Ripley officiating. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsowrth. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Monday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Tressie Juline Slade, daughter of Zanzabar and Sarah (Caruth) Slade was born Nov. 16, 1904 on a farm near Ellsworth. She attended rural school in that area.

On Feb 20, 1924, she married Harve Grove at Webster City. The couple made their home on a farm near Jewell until 1936 when they moved to a farm near Williams. In 1973, the couple moved to Webster City. Her husband died in 1984. For the past four and one half years, she has resided at Crestview Manor.

She is survived by daughters, Cleo Fisher, Webster City, Nola Lovelace, Mason City; sons, Neal Webster City, Percy, Britt, Roger, Madrid. Rex, Davenport; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she ws preceded in death by daugher, Ann Lemon; grandson, Mark Grove; her parents; and sister, Lora Ritter.

She attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Rural Workers and the Homewood Cemetery Society in Ellsworth.
