Arthur Jerome Espeland

Arthur Jerome Espeland, 61, 409 Park St., Jewell, died Oct 29 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Rev. Lee Laaveg officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening with family receiving friends from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Becker Funeral Home.

Arthur was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Roland to Levi and Evelyn (Halvorson) Espeland. He was raised in Ellsworth where he graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1946. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He married Helen Osmundson, April 4, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.

Art was a District Sales Manager for the Kruger Seed Company. He was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Jewell Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce-serving as Pres., Jewell Golf and and Country Club-serving as President, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, three sons, Byron Charles, Denver, Colorado; John David, Ames; Robert Wade, Ankeny; and one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Elizabeth; his mother, Evelyn Espeland, Jewell; one brother, Lyle Espeland, Ellsworth. He was preceded in death by his father in 1972.
