Verna Thoreson

Verna Thoreson, 67, died at her home in rural Ellsworth on Monday, June 15, 1992.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth with Rev. David Doely officiating. Burial was in the Homewood Cemetery at Ellsworth.

Verna was born in Schaller on April 23, 1925, the daughter of Hans and Johannah Jepson Andresen.

On April 27, 1957, she married Ralph L. Thoreson in Ellsworth.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bob of Beaufort, S.C. and Harold of DesMoines; four daughters, Jill Koontz of Watsonville, Calif., Cindy Arnold of Rochester, Minn., Liz Ann Rahto of Ellsworth, and Beth Thoreson of DesMoines; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Glennis Broadston of Cedar Rapids and Mae Bersee of Schaller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Keith Anderson; an infant daughter; and two brothers.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.

Memorial funds have been at Mayo Foundation Cancer Research, The Lord's cupboard and her church.

Arrangements were handled by the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell.
