Vera Anna Elizabeth Iverson

Vera Anna Elizabeth Iverson 84, died Monday, March 1, 1993, at her home in Ellsworth. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 1993 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, with burial at Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth. Visitation will be on Thursday afternoon and evening at the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell.

Vera Anna Elizabeth Iverson was born in buckeye Township of Hardin County and was the daughter of Eddward Evert and Clara (Ahrens) Aker. She grew up in the Popejoy area and graduated from Popejoy High School and the Iowa State Normal School at Cedar Falls. She taught school in Franklin County. She also graduated from Iowa State College and was an Extension Home Economist for Ringgold and Taylor Counties.

She was united in marriage to Lester Joseph Iverson on May 11, 1941 at her home in rural Popejoy, Iowa. they moved to Ellsworth and farmed. She was a 4-H leader and judge and traveled to India with Farmers and World Affairs Exchange Program in 1965.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Women's Study Club, and the Homewood Cemetery Society.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dr. Ross Iverson of Marshalltown and boyd Iverson of Ellsworth; 1 daughter Cleta Norcross of Suffolk, Virginia; 6 grandchildren: Erik Iverson, Jess Iverson, Brett Iverson, Cort Iverson and James and Sarah Norcross; 2 sisters: Neval Hall of Albion, Iowa and Alice Ellingson of Alden, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989, and 4 brothers Melvin, Dale, Maurice and Garth.
