Emma Ellen Glaman, daughter of Mary Ellen Merritt Knox and John Knox, was born near Jewell, Iowa on Dec. 4, 1898 and died Saturday morning, October 13 at the Story City Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 9 days. She entered the hospital Wednesday. On April 20, 1920, she was married to Martin A. Glaman at Webster City. She was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ and for over 50 years a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cortland (Lucille) Luick of Clarion and Mrs. Claude (Lorrene) Abramson of Jewell. Also five grandchildren, Mary Shaw, Helen Fuller, Michael Luick, Linda Graves and Martin Abramson. Also 21 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Nov. 12, 1963, one granddaughter, Patti Bonner, Jan 13, 1928 (wrong year printed - should be 1978), two brothers, Charles and Benjamin Knox and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Kinnetz and Mrs. Laura Oberender.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Oct 15 at the Federated United Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. and burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell. Rev. Harold Schaible officiated. Mrs. Glen Peterson accompanied by Mrs. S.C. Thompson sang, "Under His Wings" and "Ivory Palaces". Pallbearers were Eldon Kinnetz, Marty Murray, William Murray, Charles Knox, Harry Knox, and Glenn Oberender. Becker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
