Died at Camp Thomas

Mayor Burleson received word Tuesday that Guy Barkhuff had died at Camp Thomas and requested that flowers be sent to his home in Ellsworth. Mr. Barkhuff was a member of Company C., and when the call was issued he bravely volunteered his services. He was an excellent young man, admired by all his friends and his death comes as a shock and regret to every patriotic citizen of the county. Young Barkhuff died while on duty and answered the call above as bravely as he answered the call into the service which terminated in his death. At this writing it is not known just when the remains will reach his home in Ellsworth, where his parents reside, but ere this time the remains of the brave soldier boy have been placed in their last resting place.
