Again this obit was mixed in with my family obits. I think my Grandfather may have worked for him. A date of Nov. 1945 was written in the side of the actual newspaper article saved by my Grandmother.

GUY M. SCOTT WIDELY KNOWN FARMER, DIES Services to be held Here Friday at Foster Funeral Home.

Guy M. Scott, 66, widely known cattle feeder and farmer, died early Wednesday morning at the hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday.

Scientist services will he held at the Foster funeral Home, Friday at 2 p.m.; burial in Graceland Cemetery.

BORN IN ILLINOIS

Guy Marion Scott, son of Willis and Margaret Jane Scott, was born Sept. 15, 1879, in McLean County, Ill., and grew to young manhood there, receiving his education in the schools of the community.

In 1902 he came to Iowa, locating near Webster City to engage in farming.

He was married Jan. 17, 1906, to Eunice Mae Goodrich in Webster City. For two years they farmed three miles west of town, then moved to the Ely farm northwest of Webster City to reside for eight years.

At that time they purchased the farm four miles east of this city which was their home for 27 years. After retiring from active farming, the Scotts purchased the present home at 1004 Bank Street.

Besides his parents, Mr. Scott was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

SURVIVORS LISTED

Surviving are his wife, son son, Willis of this city, and one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Helen) mason of Pittsburgh, Pa: four grandchildren, Peggy, Scott and Anne, children of Mr. and Mrs. Mason, and Michael Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Scott.

There are also two sisters and one brother, surviving: Mrs. William McCann of Carrollton, Mo., Miss Maude Scott and Carl Scott of Farmer City, Ill.

TOP STOCKMAN

Mr. Scott was known in this section of Iowa as one of the top stockmen of Hamilton County. He was an active member of the Hamilton County Beef Producers’ association, taking a leading part in the growth and development of that organization.

Since 1922 he had been a member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau and was always intensely interested in bureau activities. Ever a worker for the good of the community not only in the immediate family but amount his host of friends and acquaintances.
