Mrs. Anna Challe's Obit was mixed in with my family Obits. Hope this helps out. I have also seen spelling of Erick Challe.

Mrs. Eric Challe

Mrs. Eric Challe, who has been in ill health for about four years, suffering from an internal cancer, died at her home in Jewell at one-thirty o’clock Thursday afternoon of last week. She had been bedfast the past six weeks.

Anna Jacobina, daughter of Jacob and Bertha Jacobson, , was born at Stavanger, Norway, March 27, 1868, and died Oct 31, 1935, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 4 days.

In the spring of 1883, at the age of 15 years, she came to America, locating in Jewell and has made her home in this community ever since.

She was married to Mr. Eric Challe at St. Paul Lutheran church, southwest of Jewell, November 22, 1886. To this union ten children were born. Her husband and nine of her children survive to mourn her loss. The surviving children are: Mrs. Arlen Dahl, Ellsworth; Mrs. Laurence Sampson, Radcliffe; Ben Challe, Stanhope, Eric Challe Jr., Ed Challe, Nels Challe, Mrs. Andrew Harman and Mrs. Annie Hanson, all of Jewell; and Mrs. Gus Berglund, of Stratford. She is also survived by one brother, T. Anderson of Minneapolis, 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and other relatives.

Mrs. Challe was baptized and confirmed in the faith of the Norwegian Lutheran church and held membership in Bethesda Lutheran church of Jewell. She was a good wife and mother, devoted to her home and her family, a good neighbor and one whom all who knew her held in the highest esteem.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2 o’clock at Bethesda Lutheran church, the pastor, Rev. Carl Opsahl officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery in Jewell. At the service songs were sung by a quartet composed of Dr. and Mrs. L.M. Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Rob Rasmussen, Miss Mabel Jacobson sang solos in Norwegian, at the home and at the church. Six sons and son-in-law served as pall bearers: Ben Challe, Eric Challe, Nels Challe, Ed Challe, Arlen Dahl and Laurence Sampson.

The following gifts were contributed in memory of Mrs. Challe: Mr. and Mrs. Amos Erickson and family, $1.00 to Missions; Group of friends, $3.75 to Missions; Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Dahl, $1.00 to Missions; Mrs. And Mrs. Hans Odland and Mr. And Mrs. Alvin Halgrim, $2.00 to Ebenezer Old People’s Home; Mrs. E. N. Challe and children, $20.00 to the local Bethesda Lutheran church.
