LONG-TIME RESIDENT PASSES AWAY LAST NIGHT

Mrs. John McFarland Dies Last Night at Midnight After Long Illness - Had Resided Here Since in '60's - Was Eighty-three Years Old.

Mrs. John McFarland, eighty-three years of age, and one of the pioneer settlers of Hamilton county passed away at midnight last night of illness induced by old age, at her home on south Superior street, after an acute period of two weeks sickness and a year or more of ill health.
Her husband passed to his reward about eight years ago, having been a soldier of the Civil War. Mrs. McFarland was a member of the Women's Relief Corps. She leaves three sons and a daughter. These are: Mrs. J. H. Clabaugh, John H. and George, all of this city and W. F. of Bancroft.
Mrs. McFarland was born July 19, 1840, and came with her parents to this county in the early sixties. She was married here and reared her family, having resided most of the time in the Saratoga neighborhood. She removed to this city about three years ago.
The funeral sevices will be held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock at the family home, with interment in the Saratoga cemetery by the side of the husband who preceded her in death.
