Obituary for Mrs. Mamie O. Elm

Mrs. Mamie O. Elm, 83, a longtime resident of the Webster City community, died Monday [April 1, 1974] afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient the past 12 days.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. R. M. Roden and Rev. Ronald Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Lutheran cemetery at Duncombe. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Thursday, when it will be taken to the church.

Mamie Oline Severson, daughter of John and Ellen Jacobson Severson was born March 10, 1891 at Duncombe, where she was reared and educated.

On March 1, 1916, she was married to Oscar Elm, and the couple started farming in the Duncombe area, moving in 1920 to a farm northwest of Webster City. They retired in 1954 and moved in to Webster City. Mr. Elm preceded her in death in 1958.

She is survived by three sons: John E. Elm of Williams, Luverne D. Elm of Webster City and Estell B. Elm of Webster City; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers, Miss Louise Severson, Amos Severson, and Jakie Severson, all of Webster City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild; one great-grandchild; her parents and one brother.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and also of the LCW.
