At Local Parsonage.

Miss Elna Andrews, of Iowa City, and Mr. Merle S. Fowler, of Des Moines, formerly of Blairsburg, were married at the Congregational parsonage Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, Dr. Ira J. Houston officiating. He used the single ring service.

The couple was unattended but present at the wedding were the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fowler, of Blairsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Fowler, Miss Dorothy Fowler and Mr. Elston Lubbers, of this city, and four friends of the couple from Des Moines.

The bride was dressed in dark blue silk crepe with accessories to match and carried a bouquet of roses.

Following the ceremony a three course wedding dinner was served at the Super Maid cafe in this city. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out and the table was centered with a lovely bouquet of cut flowers.

Mr. and Mrs. Fowler left on a wedding trip to Omaha and will be at home to their friends in Des Moines.

Both young people are former State university students, the bride being a graduate nurse.

Undated, but after 1921; from old scrapbook.
