Edwin J Stamen, 62, died unexpected Tuesday evening in the yard of his home in Guthrie Center, Cause of death was an apparent heart attack.
A salesman for Butler Paper Company, Mr Stamen was widely known throughout west central Iowa. Prior to joining the sales force at Butler he operated a grocery store in Scranton.
Born in Breda, he was the son of Mr and Mrs John Stamen who now live in Lohrville. He served in World War II.
A rosary will be prayed in his honor at 8 p m tonight at the Beidelman Funeral Home in Guthrie Center and the Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday at 10 a m at the St Mary’s Catholic Church in Guthrie Center.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Norma, and daughters Nance (Mrs John) Hartung of Chicago and Patricia (Mrs Jack Heming) of Minneapolis and three sisters.
