Fike Huiseman Obituary

Fike Huiseman, son of Jerry and Edda Huiseman, was born May 27, 1902, in Germany. He came to the United States in 1924. After a short stay at Buffalo Center, Iowa, he came to Grundy county and worked on a farm. For the past 13 years he was employed by the Iowa highway commission as a highway maintenance man.

The departed was united in marriage to Elizabeth Saathoff on October 6, 1943, at Parkersburg. Their marriage union, though of short duration, was a very happy one and interrupted only by death which came on Wednesday morning, June 10th, at 3:00 a.m. at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Huiseman's health began to fail about two years ago. During this time he had been in the hospital a number of times, undergoing surgery and treatments. His illness finally resulted in a number of complications which caused his death.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; one brother, John, of Frost, Minn.; one cousin, Wm. Huiseman of Jesup, Iowa; and an aged father and two brothers in Germany.

Fike Huiseman was more than a professing Christian. He was a faithful witness for the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he had trusted as his Savior under the ministry of Rev. A. G. Annette. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on June 13 with Rev. A. D. Mohr officiating. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
