Mrs. S. King died at her home southwest of Morrison on Wednesday the funeral service were held in the Presbyterian church Friday conducted by her Pastor Rev. A. Rederus assisted by Rev. H. B. Dye of Grundy Center.
Obituary
Susan Sharp was born in county Caven, Ireland about sixty nine years ago, and died at her home near Morrison, Grundy County, Iowa, Feb. 17th, 1904. While yet a young girl, she came to this country, and after three years in America returned to her native land. On the 29th day of Jan. 1856, she was united in marriage to Samuel King, and in 1857 came to this country and resided in the state of New York two years, and then after 13 years in Ill., removed to their home in which she spent the rest of her life. To this union four children were born; two sons J. S. King of Grundy Center, Ia., Alexander King of Harris, Osceola Co., Iowa, and Maria, yet at home, and Susan Jane who died in her youth.Mrs. King's was a happy married life of about 48 years. The immediate cause of her death was apoplexy, she survived a little more than a week after the first attack. Mrs. King was a member of the Presbyterian church in Morrison. Early in life she became a christian, and united with the church, and ever maintained her good standing, and consistent christian life, and died in peace, mourned by a large circle of friends who will miss her ever cheerful presence and friendship.
The funeral was largely attended by friends in their own vicinity, with a goodly number from Grundy Center and Reinbeck, at the Morrison Presbyterian church where the services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. Rederus, assisted by Rev. H. B. Dye a former pastor. The interment was in the Morrison cemetery.
