Carl P. Johnson Dies In Waterloo

Carl P. Johnson, who for many years was engaged in farming in Grundy county, died late Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ada Bailey. He would have been 86 years old had he lived until May 7th.

Funeral Services at Morrison
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Morrison Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Johnson had been a longtime member of the Morrison church. Rev. Herbert Dierenfield from Waterloo conducted the service. Burial was in the Morrison cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born May 7, 1861, in Sweden and came to the United States when he was 25 years old. He farmed in Grundy county until his retirement 12 years ago.

The son of John and Peternila Johnson, he married Bertha C. Johnson Feb. 20, 1891, at Reinbeck.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Norma Neessen of Wellsburg and Mrs. Bailey; one son, Royal E. Johnson, Lincoln, Iowa; a brother, John Johnson in Sweden; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
