Pioneer Area Resident Dies In Minnesota
Funeral services for Nate Jaspers, 91, a resident of Clinton, Minnesota for 60 years were held Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 1977 at the Doyen Funeral Home in Wellsburg at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was the officiating pastor. Interment was made in the cemetery at Morrison, Iowa.
He died on Friday, March 11, 1977 following a two year illness.
Nate Jaspers was born in Grundy County, Iowa on April 30, 1885 to Harm and Tina Jaspers. He grew up in Grundy County and later went to Minnesota to make his home. In 1910 he was united in marriage to Goldie Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Jaspers moved to Minnesota where Mr. Jaspers was engaged in farming at Mountain Lake and Ortonville. Later they retired and made their home in Clinton. For the past several years Mr. Jaspers had made his home at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clinton. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Clinton.
Those who survive are one sister, Mrs. Ida Bunger, residing at the Grundy Co. Memorial hospital long term care unit in Grundy Center, and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding the deceased in death were his wife, Goldie who died in 1945, a daughter, Thelma, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
On Sunday, March 13, 1977 funeral services were held in the United Methodist Church in Clinton, Minnesota at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Richard Horton officiated at the service.
