Mrs. Joe McCoy Dies Sunday PM

Mrs. Joe McCoy died about 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Allen Memorial convalescent home at Waterloo. She was 87. Death was due to advanced age and complications. She had been a resident of the convalescent home during the past two and a half years.

Mrs. McCoy's maiden name was Bessie Coffman, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Coffman. She was born Aug. 29, 1875[sic], at Adeline, Ill. She came to Morrison, Iowa, with her parents at an early age. She and Joe McCoy were married January 28, 1896. He died in 1937 at Morrison, where he and his wife had retired a short time before.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. W. L. McCommons from Reinbeck. A granddaughter Mrs. Wm. Corlick, survives.

The body was brought to the Ferree funeral home in Grundy Center where funeral arrangements were made.

Services were in the Presbyterian church at Morrison Wednesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Ralph Barron from Reinbeck. Burial was in the Morrison cemetery.
