Deceased--Mr. Henry Baker was born in England Nov. 25, 1838, and died at Whitten, Ia March 7, 1920. On June 4, 1863 he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Lowis. In 1871 they came to America with three children and settled at Ackley, Ia., moving from there to Union, then to Liscomb. In 1880 they moved to a farm near Whitten, where they lived until 1908, when they retired and moved into Whitten. Four of their children grew to maturity, Fannie M. Parrish and Mary Ann Baker of Whitten are still with us. He was converted late in life and joined the Methodist church at Felix Center, under Rev. Clements. He was always loyal to his church and faithful to Christ his Lord. He loved the word of God and loved to quote it. It afforded him much comfort and he rested securely on its promises. He often quoted to his pastor, "For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath,"-- Services were conducted at the home Tuesday at 1 o'clock. Rev. Allshouse officiated, interment at the Benson cemetery.
