Services At Union For Fern Baker, 81

Services for Fern Baker, 81, of Route 3, Marshalltown, were held Wednesday, at Biersborn Funeral Home in Union. Mrs. Baker died September 12 at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. Burial was in the Benson Cemetery near Whitten.

Pastor David Wymer officiated at the services, and pallbearers were Dave Mason, Bill Sachy, Loren West, Dale Warnell, Bill Reiser and Jack Weese.

Mrs. Baker was born May 22, 1901 at Whitten to Anson and Nora Quigley Long. She married Ray Baker at Eldora, and the couple lived in the Whitten-Eldora area before moving to rural Marshalltown in 1962. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Harold, one brother, one sister, and a grandchild. Survivors are seven children; Lloyd and Carroll Baker, both Route 3, Marshalltown; Darrell, State Center; Justine (Mrs. Lloyd) Franksain, Denver, Colo.; Dale, Hampton, Jay, Phoenix, Ariz., and David, Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Earl Eichorn, Marshalltown; 31 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
