Minnie Arnold Died Thursday

Mrs. Walter (Minnie) Arnold, 77, of rural Conrad, died Thursday at the Eldora Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 5 at the Eldora United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp officiated. Burial was in the Benson Cemetery near Whitten.

Organist was Mrs. Marcus Lamereux with Mrs. Howard Cakerice as vocalist. Pallbearers were Rick Arnold, Kent Arnold, Virgil Mitchell, Howard Long, John Goodman and Dwight Long. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Roling, Dan Munson, Glen Schwarck, Dale Petty, James Johnson and Donald Haskins.

Mrs. Virgil Mitchell, Mrs. Wayne Kinney, Mrs. Enos Fouts and Mrs. John Kaput were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Arnold was born near Dike on May 6, 1902, to Theodore and Maria Pabst Schaa, and lived in the Conrad-Whitten farm community since her marriage April 23, 1930, in Nevada. She was president of the Benson Cemetery Society.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Larry, Whitten; three grandchildren, Rich Arnold of Ames, Kent and Lori of Whitten; and seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Velma Snapp, Mrs. Lucile Kumrow and Howard Schaa of Cedar Falls, Paul and Donald Schaa and Marian (Mrs. Jurgen) Tjaden of Eldora and Marjorie (Mrs. Art) Kauffman of Waukesha, Wis. One son and a brother preceded her in death.

Biersborn Funeral Home, Union, was in charge of arrangements.
