Roger Arnold Dies From 4-Year-Old Ailment

Roger Arnold, 7 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Arnold from Felix township near Whitten died in the hospital in Eldora Monday afternoon. Four years ago the boy was stricken with what was believed to be either spinal meningitis or sleeping sickness. He partly recovered from the trouble after six months' treatment in the Eldora hospital. Two weeks ago symptoms of the same ailment recurred and the boy was taken to the Eldora hospital again.

He was born on a farm in Felix township. His mother is the former Minnie Schaa, whose parents for several years lived on a farm in Lincoln township. Surviving are the parents and one brother, Larry.

Funeral services were held at Whitten Wednesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Walter Dimmlich. Burial was at Whitten.
