Death of Henry Adams

Henry Albert Adams was born in Uttum, East Friesland, Germany, July 18, 1854. He was united in marriage to Susanna Slooter, April 5th, 1879. They came to this country and settled at Austinville in 1891 and in the year 1898 came to Ackley where he resided until death. In 1900 he became blind.

He departed this life March 17, 1923 at the age of 68 years, 7 months, and 30 days. This union was blessed with five children. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn an aged widow, one son, George, of Ackley, and one daughter Mrs. John Johnson of Bricelyn, Minn., and five grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Maggie Johns of Ackley and one brother in Germany besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Plescher on account of the weather and the illness of the widow. The remains were laid to rest at the Dutch Reform Church cemetery east of Ackley.
