Susanna Adams, born Sloter, was born in East Friesland, Germany, Oct. 3, 1850; she died Friday, Oct. 7, at Kamrar, Iowa, at the age of 82 years and 4 days. On April 5, 1879 she was united in marriage to Henry Adams. They came to America in 1891, locating at Austinville, where they lived seven years. Thence to Ackley where she spent the remaining time with the exception of the last four years which were spent at Kamrar, Iowa. This union was blessed with five children; three sons and two daughters. Her husband, two sons, Albert and Heike, one daughter Nellie, three brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, George, living northwest of Ackley, one daughter, Mrs. John Johnson of Bricelyn, Minnesota; three grandchildren--Mrs. Ben Luppen, Earl and Henry Adams and two great-grandchildren, Merrill and Anna May Luppen, all of Ackley; also a brother, George of Pekin, Illinois.
