Will Garl Dies In Mason City Hospital

Will Garl, 69, for many years a resident of Wellsburg, died in a Mason City hospital, Sunday evening. He was stricken with a light stroke last Tuesday and Sunday was taken to the hospital where he died from a heart attack.

He was united in marriage with Kate Eygabroad 45 years ago and they spent practically all their married life in Wellsburg, until moving to Mason City five years ago. He was employed by a sand and gravel firm in Mason City. While living in Wellsburg he carried the mail from the depot to the postoffice for many years and also served as marshal.

Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Schulte of Manly and one son, Roy Garl of Rockford; also two sisters in California and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Wednesday at a Mason City funeral home and burial was at Rock Falls, Iowa. A number of Wellsburg relatives and friends attended the funeral.
