Mrs. Grace Haack Is Buried Wednesday

Mrs. Grace Haack, of Parkersburg, age 97, died Sunday afternoon at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home from complications following a stroke which she had suffered about 10 days ago. She had been residing at the home for a year and a half.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1976 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Schaendig officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Parkersburg.

Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Grace Meyer was born the daughter of Arend and Trentje Meyer Meyer on Sept. 14, 1878 in Colfax township, Grundy county. She married Cornelious Haack on March 2, 1900 in the home of the bride in Grundy county. They farmed in Grundy county until 1931 when they moved to Parkersburg. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, Parkersburg.

Mrs. Haack is survived by her son, Ernest Haack of Waterloo; 4 daughters, Bilda, Mrs. Chris Weber of Traer, Mrs. Lyda Lutterman, Waterloo, Gladys, Mrs. Lewis Vollenweider, Waterloo, and Ivadean, Mrs. Lester Lutz, Cedar Falls; one brother, John A. Meyer of Grundy Center; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cornelius in 1958, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
