Jurgen Spieker died at his home in Ackley last Saturday. He had been sick part of the time for four years with dropsy. His condition was considered serious until two days before his death. He did not take to his bed until Thursday evening. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in German township Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Spieker was about 66 years old and he formerly lived in German township. He is survived by a wife and nine children. The children are Mrs. L. Moots, Mrs. George Schutjer and Dick Spieker from Kossuth county, Mattie Spieker, who has been at home and Mrs. Folkert DeVries, Mrs. Menno Kuper, Fred Reinhart and Jerry from German township.
