Samuel Doonan Buried At M'town

Funeral services for Samuel Doonan, 78, of Marshalltown were held Wednesday afternoon at 11 a.m. at the Avey Funeral home there. Interment was made in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Doonan died the previous Saturday afternoon at his home after an illness of several months. He was born August 27, 1887, at Deep River and was the son of John and Mary Parks Doonan, and was reared in that area. He farmed near Holland, Minnesota, and operated a hardware store there for a number of years. In 1941 he came to Marshalltown where he and his family had resided.

He was united in marriage to Miss Helen Primus on March 27, 1917, in Pipestone, Minnesota.

Those who survive are his wife, also four children: Duane Doonan of Marshalltown, Pershing Doonan and Mrs. Claudia Bueghly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. Sylvia Erickson of Bell, California. There are also three grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were his sister and two brothers.
