Mrs. Carrie Thomas Dies in Marshalltown

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the First Friends Church for Mrs. Carrie Thomas, 78, of Marshalltown. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas died Wednesday evening at 8:10 p.m. at the Mercy hospital where she had been a patient since November 18.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Grundy County, Iowa, on June 9, 1882 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Primus. On August 6, 1902 she was united in marriage to M. H. Thomas at Wellsburg. The couple also lived at Albion and Waterloo prior to coming to Marshalltown.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the First Friends Church.

In 1942, she was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Clarence in 1957, also two sisters and one brother.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Zuercher of Marshalltown and Dr. Jesseline Thomas of San Francisco, Calif., a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clarence Thomas, and a sister, Mrs. Sam Doonan both of Marshalltown. There are five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
