Henry Smit Dies at Home

Clear Lake--Henry M. Smit, 69, 700 8th Ave. N.; died suddenly Tuesday evening at his home. He had suffered a severe heart attack in February. Funeral services are incomplete at the Wilcox Funeral Home.

Mr. Smit was born June 15, 1888, in the Netherlands. Until his illness he had been a salesman for Tyden Feeds, Dougherty.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; five daughters, Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Crouse, Mrs. Harris (Alma) Ostrander, and Carol Ann, all of Clear Lake; Grace Groves, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Florence Berfield, Charles City, and three sons, Marvin Smit, Ventura; Merle, Fairmont, Minn., and Gerald, Fertile.

He also is survived by 19 grandchildren, one brother, Jacob, Iowa Falls, and one sister, Winnie Werkman, Holland, Iowa.

Plan Rites for Henry M. Smit

Clear Lake--Funeral services for Henry M. Smit, 69, 700 8th Ave. N., who died suddenly Tuesday evening at his Clear Lake home, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wilcox Funeral Home.

The Rev. George Strum, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. David Ostrander, Mrs. Fred Crouse and Carol Ann, Clear Lake; Grave Groves, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Florence Berfield, Charles City, and three sons, Marvin, Ventura; Merle, Fairmont, Minn., and Gerald, Fertile.
