Dolores Harken, Ackley, was born May 31, 1929, in Ackley, to Earl Halloran and Myrtle Groninga.

She was a 1947 graduate of Ackley High School. On September 9, 1947, she married Delbert Harken in Ackley. She was a housewife and member of First Presbyterian Church, Ackley, where she also was involved in ladies aid.

Mrs. Harken died Wednesday, December 14, 1994, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. She was 65.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 16, at First Presbyterian Church, Ackley, with the Reverend R. Michael McDowell and Reverend Tim Wilkey officiating. Elaine Willms was organist with Shauna Schurman as soloist.

Casketbearers were Donald Boheman, Williard DeBerg, Stan Griep, Gaylord Lupkes, Wayne Shugar and Virgil Vanderloo. Burial was in West Friesland Cemetery, Ackley.

Survivors include her husband, Ackley; a son, Delton, West Des Moines; a daughter-in-law, Darla Harken, Urbandale; two grandsons; a granddaughter; a step-granddaughter; and a sister, Patricia Schurman, Aplington.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jolene Harken, a son, Dennis Harken and her parents.

Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home, Ackley, was in charge of the arrangements.
