Rev. William Gay of Dallas, Oregon, formerly pastor of the Presbyterian church at Morrison, died March 9th, in his 83rd year. He was born in England and began preaching at the age of 21 and continued in active ministry until 1897, when he was stricken with paralysis from which he never recovered. His work has been in the churches of New Boston and Sharod, Ill., Glenwood, N.Y., Delmar, Clarance, Center Junction, Morrison and Dows, Iowa, Mehama and Lafayette, Oregon. Rev. Gay is well remembered in this county and had many friends at Morrison where the church prospered under his care. He was the first installed pastor of the Morrison church, coming there in 1888 and remaining four years. His wife, to whom he had been married 57 years, survives him with several children, all in mature life.
