REGRET ALBERT’S DEATH

Local Physicians Sorry to Learn of Mason City Doctor’s Death

The announcement of the T-R Friday evening of the death of Dr. Fred Albert, of Mason City, was learned with much regret among local physicians, most of whom knew Dr. Albert. Dr. Albert was one of the most promising young physicians in the state, and was a brother of Dr. Henry Albert, a member of the faculty of the medical department of the State University of Iowa.

Dr. Albert visited the city last summer, when he addressed the Marshall County Medical Society, on the subject of infantile paralysis, with which Dr. Albert had become familiar through the long epidemic at Mason City. Dr. Albert was elected president of the Iowa Health Officers Association at the associations last session.

Dr. Albert was 30 years old, and was a native of Reinbeck, where he was born March 20, 1881. Following the graduation for the State University Medical Department in 1905 he settled at Mason City, where he had built up a big practice. Mr. Albert was married in 1908, his wife being Miss Gertrude Gettins, of Williamsburg. An 8 month old son is the couple’s only child.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Albert, Dr. Albert’s parents, live at Reinbeck, as do a brother, Louis Albert, and a sister Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Dr. Albert of Iowa City, and Otto Albert of Fayette, Idaho are other two members of Albert family.
