Maurine Stewart Services Thursday

Maurine Stewart, 75, of Dike, passed away on Monday, December 21, 1998, at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of natural causes.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 24, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dike. Pastor Rick Johnson will officiate the service. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials are to be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.

Maurine was born on December 10, 1923, in Taylor County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Rex V. and Scotch K. (Duff) Copper. She attended grade school in Taylor County and graduated from Withee High School in 1942. She was very active in her church, 4-H and The Republican Party. Maurine was a member of the United Methodist Church, D.A.R., American Legion Auxiliary and Scottish Heritage Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gaylen Stewart; and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Robert C. Stewart and wife Jennifer of Cedar Falls; daughter, Colleen Carpenter of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Jensen and Dorothy Klabon both of Withee, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

The Dike Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
